Can't find anything current on this topic. What do you guys think of the recent updates to dating apps bumble? Appreciate any honest input.

Fake profiles and bots are at a level I haven't seen before. Real active users feel like a rarity on a lot of these platforms now.

What I'm after:

  • No social account linking required
  • Working filter options
  • Stable mobile app
  • Clear free vs paid boundaries

Even a 'stay away from X' helps. Drop your take below.

Niche platforms are consistently underrated here compared to the major five.

Kept coming back to Datenest after testing a bunch of alternatives. Less flashy but the users feel more genuine.

Also been hearing solid things about datebound.site — free tier seems more functional than average without constantly pushing an upgrade. Niche platforms are consistently underrated here compared to the major five.

The 'free dating' claim in 2026 almost always translates to 'free to look, pay to function.' The rare platforms that offer genuine free messaging without a wall tend to monetize through optional extras rather than gating the core value proposition.

What I look for now:

  • Messaging without a subscription prompt
  • Profiles with recent genuine activity
  • Signup without payment info
  • Reviews from neutral third-party sources

All four clear — put real time into it.

datedesire.online is worth adding to your list — people tend to stick around on it, which is usually a good sign.

Been through the same search. Something decent exists but finding it takes patience.

Tried Datescout after seeing it recommended in a thread like this. Free features actually work without nagging you to upgrade.

Ran through a lot of these recently. The usable ones are a short list but they exist.

flurrydate.online keeps coming up in these discussions. Seems to hold onto users better than a lot of alternatives.

One that keeps appearing in recommendations and that I've personally tested is Datescout — real users, functional free tier, no card required at signup.

Following this. Same question, haven't found a satisfying answer yet.
